Marvel’s newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Black Panther’s first theatrical trailer set the internet ablaze with anticipation last year. With Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, and Angela Bassett as only some of the all-star names of its roster, the film will follow King T’Challa’s return to Wakanda.

Annihilation
Release Date: February 23
When her husband comes home from a disaster zone as the only surviving soldier, a biologist, played by Natalie Portman, must put herself in danger and find out what happened. This is based on a trilogy of novels written by Jeff VanderMeer, so my hopes for sequels are high. The books had a lot of awesome visual moments that would look stunning on screen.

A Wrinkle in Time

If you aren’t already excited about this adaptation of the beloved sci-fi novel, the cast and director of this adaptation are at least something to hold your breath over. Stars like Mindy Kaling, Chris Pines, Reese Witherspoon, and Oprah Winfrey (of The Oprah Winfrey Show fame, if you haven’t heard of her), are joined by young star Storm Reid in director Ava DuVernay’s vision of a young girl who must travel far (and extraterrestrially) to find her father.

Ready Player One
Release Date: March 30
Yet another adaptation of a popular book on this list, this Steven Spielberg-penned movie is one of the most anticipated releases of 2018. Dystopia is mashed with pop culture references in a fictional future where escapism comes in the form of a virtual reality world called OASIS.
