In this hilarious flick, McCarthy embodies a committed homemaker who is suddenly abandoned by her husband. After refusing to be a victim, her character, Deanna decides to head back to school and lands at the same college as her daughter. Her character is one of four women participating in a book club who decides to read Fifty Shades of Grey together. This group of women who have known each other the entirety of their lives include Keaton’s character along with a free bird who doesn’t like commitment, a woman still feeling the burn of a long-settled divorce, and a married woman who’s 35-year marriage is in a lull.
