Where is Britney Spears Now?
Britney Spears is a celebrity for whom we’re all rooting. Mmst of us have a deep connection with her from growing up and listening to her music. From the “Oops, I Did It Again” days of the late ‘90s to today, the world has watched Britney Spears grow up alongside them.
But where is Britney Spears today?
To answer that, we first have to go back to the year 2007. Skinny jeans were on the rise and every young teen wanted a flip phone for their birthday. This was also the year that Britney Spears had her famous meltdown.
The day after, the world woke up to images of Spears with a shaved head attacking the side of a car with an umbrella. She then had a very brief stint in a rehabilitation center while also battling for custody of her children. Fans speculated as to what could have possibly caused this outburst.
Her childhood fame was later revealed to be a major proponent of some of her issues. Growing up in the spotlight with controlling parents placed undue stress on the young woman, and she turned to drugs and alcohol as a coping mechanism.
Spears faced a ton of ridicule for her meltdown, but true fans of the pop singer stuck by her side through thick and them, publicly voicing their support for Spears. Unfortunately, this phase of her life contributed to Spears being placed under a strict conservatorship, something that she is still under to this day.
As a result of this conservatorship, Spears has little control over her image and her money, and her parents are still largely in control. However, this hasn’t stopped her from making a comeback!
Spears has been hugely successful after coming out of all of this. She was a judge on The X-Factor for a bit, where she judged hopeful contestants as they showed off their various talents to the world. She would later go on to release multiple hit albums and many singles that would top the pop charts.
She also co-wrote Rihanna’s hit song “S&M,” a song that’s still played on the radio every day. On top of this, she had an endorsement with Candie’s and released her own perfume!
Recently, Spears’ own parents, Jamie and Lynn, are in hot water over their daughter’s treatment. Spears does not have a formal diagnosis for bipolar disorder, and yet her parents managed to get a prescription and make Spears take it as though she were formally diagnosed.
Spears later admitted that she was forced into a mental health facility against her will. This sparked outrage among her fans, many of whom protested outside of city hall, and sparked the #FreeBritney movement. It’s clear that no matter what struggles Britney Spears may face, she’ll have a fanbase who are willing to go to bat to save their favorite pop singer.
